Our Associate – Rev. Elivered Mulongo
I was born in Kenya and did my Bachelor of Divinity (B.D) at St. Paul’s University, Limuru. I was made deacon at Christ the King Cathedral, Homa Bay in 1995 and I was priested in the fall of 1996. I taught briefly at St. Phillip’s Theological Seminary, Maseno and later worked as a translator with the Bible Society of Kenya. I came to Canada as an international student in the year 2000, taking a Masters in Theology at the Toronto School of Theology where I also worked on a doctoral program in biblical studies for 5 years. I have worked as priest of the Diocese of Toronto in a number of parishes.
I am delighted and humbled to be part of the ministry of St. Chad’s Parish and the Ahadi East African Community as Ministry Associate. In this role, I support the Priest in Charge to carry out the mission and vision of St. Chad’s Parish through the ministries of worship, preaching, administering sacraments and pastoral care and counseling.
My role as associate also includes leading parish outreach ministries. In this role, I help the parish identify goals and programs; in particular, I help with ministry planning, identifying outreach opportunities, and leading small groups.
In addition, I design and lead the once monthly worship program for Ahadi ministry, chair that ministry’s meetings, support Ahadi outreach to the target East African community in the GTA and help the ministry to maintain a social media presence through an updated website.
As a full time Associate, I represent the Parish at area clericus meetings and attend other parish and Diocesan meetings and training sessions, including participating in opportunities for personal and professional growth.
