We are a Fresh Expressions Ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Toronto and our mission is to reach East African Canadians and friends in the Greater Toronto Area both by word and by action. Ahadi Sunday worship service follows the Diocese of Toronto’s Fresh Expressions model in that not everyone who comes or leads this worship is required to be an Anglican. Sunday worship services are conducted in both English and Swahili with translations where necessary. We are flexiable with liturgy in that we use the Book of Alternative Services (BAS) and other models of worship approved by the Diocese. Ahadi Ministry is faithful to God’s calling in seeking to reach and connect with people who are not being served by traditional Western forms of Church.
The community of St Chads takes these words of Jesus to heart. Our children’s ministry recognizes that children already have a deep relationship with the pulse of creation. It is not the work of the Sunday school to teach children to have faith – but to respect and assist them in their already existing journey. We understand that each child is a unique creation of God’s. It is through activities such as story telling, impromptu theatre, model making, baking and the building of forts – all taking place in a prayer centered, busy space – that we introduce the children to the wonderful biblical stories that offer support and fortification in a confusing world. St Chads is a place where we believe that Sunday school is another wonderful active expression of worship.
We gather every Sunday as part of full church worship, September-June, with occasional Sunday school throughout the summer dependent upon attendance.
We look forward to meeting you! More about our Sunday School programs >
What you will love about our Neighbourhood Bible Studies is that they will be easy conversations around the Bible where we all come to learn and grow together. So, no prior knowledge is required. Our studies will begin with some background stuff which we need to know, like, how the Bible came into being, structure and sources, books of the Bible including which ones did not make the grade in the Catholic and Protestant Canons, Bible versions/ translations, and resources for studying the Bible. The groups will thereafter decide which area of the Bible, theme etc they wish to proceed with.
Grab a friend or family and join us in this very exciting adventure. We hope this is another opportunity for you to expand not just your knowledge but also your circle of friendship and fellowship.

Prayer Group – Thursday Afternoons
POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
On Thursdays we meet in the sanctuary from 1:00 to 2:30 for a non-denominational prayer gathering. Our meetings usually begin with conversation, coffee or tea and a brief reading or reflection. When our prayer candle is lit we continue with prayers submitted (usually anonymously) on “leaves” placed on our “Prayer Tree” by members of our group and our congregation. We invite you to grow in faith with us. Send us a prayer request by email and we will add it to our tree. See you Thursday!
